What Rules the World?
1. Fear
It can prevent people from doing certain things, whether it’s as insignificant as killing a spider, or as meaningful as telling someone that you love them. It can cause someone to miss a great opportunity that could make them happy. It can also save someone’s life, which makes it hard to ignore fear; sometimes it’s actually trying to help us.
Even the fearless are controlled by fear, in that it motivates them to perform both courageous, as well as dumb, acts. They don’t want to miss out because of fear, so instead they use that fearful energy to propel them forward.
2. Greed
We always want more than what we want. Even when it seems as if we accomplished everything that we dreamed of, we continue to dream and want more from life than what we had. We always strive to be better off than where we are right now, whether it means making more money, finding a better love, or just simply trying to be happier.
3. Love
Some people spend their entire lives looking for love. Others find it early on. Love can take on many forms, whether it’s from family, friends, lovers, or even yourself. Some forms of love are easier for certain people to find than others, and some people can never seem to grasp it, no matter how many times we try to snatch it with our hands.
We’re told for our entire lives that love is what makes life fulfilling, so we try to find it through any means possible. We want to feel that we’ve lived our lives to the fullest, and is it possible without some form of love?
