To Reset or Not to Reset?
As I stepped out of the time machine and onto the streets of 1984, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement mixed with a twinge of anxiety. The world looked so different back then, and I knew that every little thing I did could have a huge impact on the future.
I took out my smartphone and started snapping pictures of everything around me. The clothes people were wearing, the cars on the street, the buildings towering above me. It was all so fascinating to see firsthand.
As the days turned into weeks, I started to notice more and more differences between this world and the one I had left behind. People seemed more innocent somehow, less jaded and cynical. The music was also vastly different, and I found myself falling in love with the pop hits of the time. Especially, in Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You"
But there was a darkness lurking just beneath the surface as well. The Cold War was still raging, and I couldn't help but wonder if the world was on the brink of destruction. The government was oppressive, and people were afraid to speak their minds.
As I continued to document my experiences, I found myself becoming increasingly conflicted about the idea of resetting the world. On the one hand, it would be amazing to see a brighter, more peaceful future unfold. But on the other hand, there was something beautiful about the way things were in 1984, despite all the challenges.
One day, as I was walking through the city, I stumbled upon a protest march. The people were chanting and holding up signs, demanding freedom and justice. I felt a surge of emotion as I watched them, and I knew in that moment that I couldn't just sit back and watch the world change without trying to make a difference.
I started secretly sending my photos and videos back to my colleagues in 2023, hoping that they would see the beauty and potential of this world as well. And as I watched the protest march disappear into the distance, I felt a sense of hope that maybe, just maybe, we could create a better future without erasing the past.
Love, music, awareness, and honesty were all integral parts of this journey. I learned that sometimes, the greatest changes come from within, and that even the smallest actions can have a huge impact on the world around us. As I stepped back into the time machine and returned to my own time, I knew that I would carry those lessons with me for the rest of my life.
