You Created Yourself
You don't know who you are, my Frankensteinian friend,
Comprised of different pieces, you lost yourself in the end.
You took the alive in you and sold it for something dead.
No matter the love I gave, I watched the corruption spread.
I was woefully wrong to believe your light persisted.
I took my blindfold off and saw how your soul had twisted.
The last fragment of you left was dark and deeply pernicious.
The sweet friendship from the past, had long become fictitious.
While you were warping, you watched how quickly people fled,
Still you sewed your new self up with fragile strings of thread.
You've turned into a monster, but I refused to be your prey,
Because even though you hurt me, it was my choice to stay.
Now that I've lost all hope, our friendship is a memory.
My only question is: Did you never keep a piece of me?
