August Drabble Challenge: MURDER!
Tell me a story using good, solid prose in exactly 100 words. This month, tie it in to MURDER. Not necessarily the act itself, but that'll be fine, too; use your imagination. I want a super short story somehow related to doin' murder. No need to tag me, I'll read all the entries in September and select a winner.
Summer’s End
In the hush of a summer night, shadows draped the scene like a shroud. The scent of rot hung heavy in the air as a man's desperate gasps pierced the stillness. Moonlight danced upon his lifeless eyes, rigor mortis began its unyielding embrace. His body, once a vessel of vigor, now succumbed to the cruel grip of death. Time seemed to stretch, capturing his final moments in agonizing detail. As the world slept, the darkness concealed the secrets of that fateful night, leaving only the haunting memory of a man's demise, locked forever in the cold clutches of rigor mortis.
