August Drabble Challenge: MURDER!
Tell me a story using good, solid prose in exactly 100 words. This month, tie it in to MURDER. Not necessarily the act itself, but that'll be fine, too; use your imagination. I want a super short story somehow related to doin' murder. No need to tag me, I'll read all the entries in September and select a winner.
Scent of murder
The air smelt of blood. It silently drifted to me, whispering danger and caution as I rumbled down the path towards Steven's house. Then, I saw it through the corner of my eye. The smell of blood thickened, intoxicating me in it's brick walls, forcing me down on my knees. Stumbling down the plateau, I reached the source of death. A mangled body lay, half covered in reeds. Apprehensive as I was, I knelt down beside the body. The corpse of a young boy, too young to have died so soon. I pulled the boy's hat off, revealling him. Steven.
