The Chill of a Hollow Hug
Mother walks towards me briskly with her arms stretching wide
A scene not so familiar, yet many others have seen worldwide.
What is it about a hug from a mother that makes you feel embraced with warmth and grace?
I can only imagine the comfort it brings.
Does it make your heart sing?
Yearning for this moment.
I feel her arms closing in
and still.
There is a chill
And my heart starts whispering.
"What is this warmth that so many others have seen?"
I wouldn't know.
I've never known.
I may never.
Know.
