Challenge
October drabble challenge: OH, THE HORROR!
Spooky season celebration! Give me exactly 100 words of HORROR fiction. Please use standard punctuation, spelling, and grammar to craft a prose tale of exactly 100 words. Gimme something that reads like a scary story to send chills down my spine. I'll pick the winner and read all the entries somewhere near Nov 1.
The Grim Cat
It felt as though someone was watching me as I wandered through the cemetery. The gravestones stood silently, row upon row, like forgotten soldiers, until a meow broke the silence... A shudder ran down my spine, and a knot formed in my throat. It was him... A small black cat appeared from the mist. The cat took a step forward, morphing into his true form. In front of me stood a tall pale man. "You don't seem surprised to see me?" He smirked. "I accepted my fate long ago." He was the Grim Reaper, and he was here to collect.
