October drabble challenge: OH, THE HORROR!
Spooky season celebration! Give me exactly 100 words of HORROR fiction. Please use standard punctuation, spelling, and grammar to craft a prose tale of exactly 100 words. Gimme something that reads like a scary story to send chills down my spine. I'll pick the winner and read all the entries somewhere near Nov 1.
“Whispers of the Abandoned Asylum”
In the abandoned asylum, whispers echoed through decaying halls. Shadows danced, craving life. Sarah's flashlight flickered, heartbeat racing. Each step intensified the dread. A door creaked open. "Come," a voice beckoned. She approached, hesitating. Behind, a menacing specter loomed. "You shouldn't be here," it rasped, icy breath chilling her soul. She turned, but the exit had vanished. Panic clawed. Suddenly, the walls bled with ghastly faces, contorted in agony. Desperation consumed her as the wailing spirits closed in. In the asylum's heart, an evil entity waited to feast on her terror. Horror engulfed her, an eternal scream in the darkness.
