Independence is not freedom

There is not quite an animal as peculiar as the human being and I apologize for our ill-developed qualities, first of all. As the time has passed we have grown more and more selfish, corrupt and greedy. We have grown weak and blind to tricks being played and the goal of many is to earn as much money as possible, money, a thing that does not even exist, pieces of paper, metal and digits on a screen, that we have given worth and if we all stopped playing along, money would lose its power. However, we have created words with a positive meaning: freedom, passion and of course independence. I am standing here after all, to explain the meaning of the latter. It is easy to mistake freedom and independence, nonetheless they are quite diverse. In my opinion freedom does not exist, even if forms of it do, a living thing will never be free of duties, consequences, instincts and consciousness. Though if it were to exist, it would mean being able to choose your own actions, words, anything, free of consciousness, duties, consequences etc. Independence is freedoms sister, she may feel the same, but if one looks closer, one can see multiple differences. Independence means being able to stand alone without falling; choosing freely and feeling comfortable with this choice. Independence is being able to fend for oneself without needing the help of others, being free of the need of help, so yes a form of freedom; freedoms sister. Therefore, dear creatures who do not live on earth, please do not take these few positive aspects of our race from us and leave us be, let us be independent!
