I Need
I need not know
all the earth has told
to know what my father knows.
I need not hear
all the wind has whistled near
to play a song so dear.
I need not tell
all I’ve spoken too well
for within their minds a bell to knell.
I need not bend
all that treads in my head
before I lay in my bed.
I need only
beckon closely
all within me bright,
so burning, I won't take flight.
