My Beloved Burns

I dreamt freedom

For this innocent soul

She has been trapped

Unreasonably so

I her sole protector

Decide the only way

Save my beloved girl

Live another day

In the cult I go

No good in sight

I kiss my humanity

Soft into goodnight

I say horrid evil

Commit awful crimes

All for my girl

Beloved won’t die

I almost lost

Myself in this place

But I held dear

My beloved’s face

And there! I see

My girl stripped bare

The vile creatures

Paused a moment, stare

That is when I kill

Each and every one

Slaughter them

Until the job is done

I hold my quivering dear

Softly in my grasp

“I beg, don’t hurt me”

I hear her timid rasp

She didn’t recognize

Her one and only guard

These final evil deeds

Have left a charred heart
