Atoms of Love

We know that atoms exist

Because science tells us so,

And science ought to know

Because it gave us the smartphone,

The golden apple of technology!

But we differ from a smartphone,

Don't we?

We are much, much more,

Aren't we?

Not when it comes to atoms,

You see!

We share the same pedigree.

The difference is biology,

Which a long, long time ago

Metamorphosed stardust into atoms of love,

Which became you and me.

Such wonderful alchemy!

Stardust is the container

For the flame of life.

I am a sea of emotions,

Welling and subsiding

Like the tides in the oceans.

Flame lets me know I’m alive!
