Challenge
February Drabble Challenge: "Love and Hate"
Well, it's Valentine's Day time, so let's get cliche. Write me a prose story in exactly 100 words tying into the theme of love or hate or Valentine's Day. Any genre, but horror has a special place in my heart. Winner gets a pair of George Washingtons, baby. Wanna win? Stick to prose using standard rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I'll choose the winner in early March.
Take My Heart
The heart is what I want. It's meaty flesh the only thing that satiates my desire. Plump and tender, full of love; juicy.
I watch as she goes about her day. Laundromat, grocery store, riding the bus. I am there. She really should check her surroundings more often.
She makes a reservation for dinner with a friend. The reservation should have been for three. I will eat as well.
I see her there, choosing an outfit. Silly girl, it doesn't matter.
Her path to the restaurant crosses the train tracks. Now is the time.
Oh won't you be my Valentine?
