Memory
Sitting here now,
I remember
those days now long gone,
all the time we spent together.
I can almost see the scene,
like a movie in my head;
how we lay side by side
curled up in my bed.
When we were younger,
you'd say,
"I'll show you the world,
I'll take you away someday."
Look at where we are now
how far we've come.
We may be older now,
but we've come undone.
I stare at these walls again,
the same ones that stood then.
They're the only constant
They're the proof of my pain.
It's time to walk away,
as fades the last melody.
I leave these walls,
my memory.
