Does food want to be eaten?
The existence of food
You could ask the same question to a soldier: do you want to die?The answer is probable “no”. But death is not the goal, it never was and never will be. Why then does the soldier welcome death with its beckoning hands, despite their refusal, that they do not seek death? Because there is something greater than death, a greater value, a larger magnitude, and a higher standing within the human heart, that is the reason for life. If a person lacks a reason to live, there is no difference between them and the dead, both destined for nothing but dust. Similarly, food refuses to be consumed. It doesn't want to die, but the reason for its existence surpasses its death. If it lacks a reason for existence, it will find no place in this world.
