Weekend’s Warm Embrace
The work week came and went though it was a stubborn cuss and dragged on for eternity. At last the weekend rolled into town and that Friday night the man collapsed into bed.
He woke up on Saturday and Saturday was uneventful. No company dropped by, no apocalyptic events occurred and he was grateful. He basked in that nothingness like a sunbathing lizard! He took a walk and listened to birds and felt the chilling teeth of a North Dakota breeze. It was the same breeze and bird calls he'd experienced on dozens of other walks but he didn't care.
After a long week of working 8-3:30 with poorly disciplined school children and wondering if they had any sort of future he was grateful for a day-- even if 'twas but one day -- of nothing, nothing at all!
