Serendipity

A perfect day, as seen through me, would consist of laughter and love. I am fortunate to have had such a day. My boyfriend (at the time, now fiancé) and I traveled to Dallas, Texas for New Years 2022/2023. We were supposed to meet friends at a bar that was having a burlesque night in celebration of the New Year. The energy in the bar was chaos but addictive and pulsing with lust and freedom. The friends we were supposed to meet cancelled last minute which was in our favor. The drinks were not very good, but they were strong. After bravely, and stupidly I might add, finishing multiple absinthe dowsed drinks we found ourselves dancing on the rooftop of our hotel. At the strike of midnight, we kissed. Seemingly, it felt like the whole city was in support of our love. Fireworks began shooting off and we could hear cheers ringing out across the streets. I bathed in the joy of the moment knowing it was truly once in a lifetime.
