We lived in a box
of brick, with a net behind to catch the light
and the dust
And when the city died we stayed
We planted whistles
and daisies
and bodies in the ground
I curved my spine for them as you stood tall
and you tasted the dead
Can you still see Us?
Are We still there?
in the rear-view where I am
standing in the arteries for hours
and no one sees me
but plastic suits
and wakeless hours
and bags on the concrete
