Foggy Echoes: A November Day in Tbilisi Reminiscent of London
November in Tbilisi, 2024. Today’s weather is cloudy, uncannily reminiscent of foggy London. The city seems to have immersed itself in the melancholy of gray skies and damp air that clings like a thin mist around streets and avenues. From the rooftops, buildings and hills blend into blurry silhouettes, fading away in the hazy fog.
These two cities—Tbilisi and London—seem to speak the same language today, though they’re usually so different. A light breeze carries the smell of damp stone and earth across the pavements, familiar to anyone who’s strolled along the Thames embankments. Thin streams flow down the asphalt, catching the faint glimmer of streetlights and headlights, as if refracting light in the ghostly mist. The landscape feels muted, as though someone has dimmed the brightness of life, leaving only the contrast of shadows and light.
People hurry beneath umbrellas, eager to escape the drizzle that seems to lurk in every corner, ready to spill over passersby. The cold moisture, seeping to the bone, fills the air with a quiet melancholy and peaceful reflection.
