Rubies

Sunflowers in nature

always turn towards the light.

The dripping of water

trickles down

Seeping into the dry dirt.

I wave a hand through the grass,

little rubies jingling

and clinking

against my fingertips.

I hold them in my hands

little bursts of red against green.

I pop them in my mouth,

one by one.
