Lost Arrow
You were the key to my lock....
And I lost you.
More than my black ink scribbled on brittle paper,
You were the thoughts within my mind.
Shine throughout my poetry
As you being my sun
Brightens up my day...
Say that you'll never leave me
So you can betray my trust again...
And again...
And again...
I used to look into your eyes and see galaxies forming,
Like every time you blinked a new planet was created.
I used to see the ocean within your glare,
I watched the tides change with the moon.
I heard symphonies within your voice,
Like each word was crafted by gods.
Each strand of hair would bounce the light off of the sun like each was crafted by gods.
Your skin, crafted by gods.
Your smile, crafted by gods.
You were my Aphrodite
Better yet,
You were my Allah, without you my days would not be long upon the earth.
You looked pure as the sands of Persia,
As though you wore a wedding dress everytime I saw you.
I lifted your vail to receive denial, relieved thinking I would tamper your innocence.
Your kisses on my cheek reminded me of mothers,
So I had no choice but to stay true.
You called me your boyfriend but always put emphasis on the conclusion of the word.
You told me your mottos were "nothing last forever" and "your closest friends can be your enemies,"
Not knowing that you were giving me hints of my future.
You always told me to let love and let go,
But when I finally let love you choose to let go.....
You were the key to my lock,
And I lost you.
As far as your heart goes?
I only wanted a sliver,
But why when it came to me did Cupid have no ammo left in his quiver.
