Challenge
write an ode to a stranger
bibliothèque
After a week of making a difference
in other people’s lives, on my day off,
I thought that I would relax. I dressed down;
old comfortable shoes, faded and worn
clothing and even bothered not to shave.
I decided to spend the day reading.
You stopped me at the door, refused entry.
I wanted to sit at the library,
but I am not fit to sit in public…
Is this a new dawn? Only the worthy
shall pass? Those who look different shall stay out?
Will the Great Wall of China diminish?
Abominations bring desolation.
Dare I hope in spite of "humanity?”
