One day, Mark, who likes to toss the tea-shaker in the air and flip it around, was doing his usual thing and tossing it when it was full of tea and ice. Of course, I told him this was going to be the day that it opened up on him, but as usual, he not only ignored me, but also starting tossing it near me. I joked with him a little bit more before shaking my head and walked away, not wanting to be near him when it opened. A few moments later, Mark missed grabbing the shaker and it fell, the corner of it hitting the counter, causing the lid to pop off and Mark got covered in 30 ounces of tea and ice.
Cynthia was reaching up trying to get a box of lemonade that is stored in shelves above a work station. I was at the station making a drink and ignoring what Cynthia was doing. As I was holding the cup, about to pour it into a blender, the box of lemonade that Cynthia had been trying to get, slipped from her fingers and came crashing down on the cup I was holding, sending liquid spraying everywhere. It was a huge mess and the loud crash quite embarrassed Cynthia.
Whenever I go on my breaks at work, I like to sit on the floor near the freezer since it’s warm there. Of course, this is where the pastries and extra cups are stored as well and people sometimes have to come and grab things from there. I’ll be sitting back there quietly, minding my own business, when one of my coworkers comes rushing around the corner intent on whatever item they need, and proceed to scream. Once they realize who it is, we all get a good laugh about it.
During a late shift one night, Jane was working the drive-thru window and a customer dropped their drink before they could get it into their car. Of course, we made them a new one and sent them on their way, but now we had the empty cup sitting in our drive-thru lane. Since it was late, after midnight, none of us were willing to go outside to get it, so Jane had me hold her legs and dove out the window to get it. Once she grabbed it, I hauled her back in by her legs.
