Her face
There are cracks on her face
Wrinkles
She watches the time pass
Feels it tick by
Each mark another worry that I’ll stop seeing her beauty
She sees the lines by her eyes
I see the LOVE
Each crease, a badge of a thousand smiles, the echo of countless laughs
To her, time takes
For me, it gives
More symbols of her beauty
Fissures for her love to pour out
For mine to pour in
Tokens from her heart, her soul
She thinks the wrinkles diminish
like a rare stone, they each add a facet to admire
Each groove an acknowledgment that her heart is too full of love
Too big for her precious vessel to contain
Demons
The demons in me are cunning
They watch and wait so well
Strike out! Then running
Pulling me back to hell
But they wait and gaze so long
As I claw out of the depths
I forget they are of me, in me they belong
So when I reach the daylight
Content once more in love’s embrace
Darkness flows, futile is the fight
Back to hell I go, without a trace.
Gardening
She speaks to my soul
She sooths my storm
Turns my walls to dust, my heart to a garden
And as she tends my garden, it grows.
With each gentle caress, giggle, feel of her lips
My garden grows
In the warm light of her love, time slows
Still my garden grows
Her eyes, her voice, they plant the seeds
Her lips, her heat water and feed
Trees tall as mountains, grasses ever green
For her, it flourishes. The garden in me
I forget the years before we met
Though they once seemed like an eternity
The struggles, torment, the stress leave
Tears, sweat and blood give way to peace
The anger fades to bliss, gently rustling in trees
Like leaves in the garden that grows in me
Know if you approach, to tread carefully
She is beyond sacred, she’s my destiny
I will defend my love, absolutely
A lover in a garden, I am not
But a warrior in love, that is me.
The moon and me
She was like the moon
Sometime shining brightly, sometime hidden from me
Always there, always far
So many nights I'd spend admiring her light
Beautiful, silent, a thousand miles away
As I watched her, like the moon, so much beauty to see
But there was more, hints of mysteries, intrigue. The answers...not for me
I stopped searching the stars, focus internally
The most unexpected surprise life gave to me
Though too far to see, all this time, while I was watching her, she was
watching me
Evermore
A string , a memory, pulling in my head.
The words, pleasantries, beautiful lies you said.
Promises made, so few you keep,
More tears for you, than any other, I weep.
My best parts I gladly gave.
Foolish how I thought it fate.
Now the memories are tainted shells,
Yet still my heart must wish you well.
Though mark these words, love, this vow I keep.
Evermore you're dead to me.
