A Letter to the Anchor I Don’t Need Anymore
It held me tethered to the seafloor
Some movement to and fro
A dynamic equilibrium
Fairly stable
When the anchor unhooked itself
I was left drowning in the currents
Waves of self pity and insecurity
But slowly
I was able to steady myself without the anchor
The thing I thought I needed
Was only weighing me down
