The door
Have you ever noticed that a door can open and close for years, and never needs to be replaced? His old creaky frame sat in that old doorway for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. This door has seen and felt more than you could ever imagine. Each person that turned his rusty knob, had a different personality. A different disposition, psyche, and individuality. He met singers, dancers, accountants, lumberjacks, and maybe even a president. Each person invites a few friends over, giving him more personalities for him to feel, to see. Doors do not have eyes, for they are not living creatures, but one does not need eyes to see.
The pretzel
You twist you turn,
She waits in line.
You fry you burn,
You're looking fine.
The butter glazed your golden skin,
"Now comes the salt,"
She says with a grin.
Then the sky turns to dark,
The puddles fill.
The man closes the park,
The girls' tears spill.
"At least you got your treat,"
Her mother replied,
But as soon as the young girl starts to eat,
The pretzel falls to the side.
It soaks up the water from the ground,
And the girl frowns longingly,
Without a sound.
How I Write Poems
I sit there
Staring at the little blinking blue line
Two minutes
Five minutes
Still nothing
Ten minutes
Twenty minutes
Will I ever think of something?
Thirty minutes
Ah ha!
Never mind
Forty minutes
Will someone give me a prompt?
fifty minutes
Sixty minutes
Done.
An hour
That's all it took
...
Should I publish it?
Growth mindset
You might think your great
But give it a break
Your smart and your clever,
But all at one thing
As soon as someone says
Your not that amazing
You blow up with anger
You might just go crazy
Give yourself a challenge
Try something new
Or just take a break
You obviously need to
If you can't get up
after having a fall
Then what is the point
in living at all
Don’t be Afraid
Always look for something new
A challenge
No matter if you win or lose
Learning
Growing
No matter the cost
Try new things
Don't be afraid to get lost
Make something
Something beautiful
Something creative
Something that's you
Don't be afraid of anything new
If you are learning
You never lose
Chocolate Carrot
It's not a pea
So you can give it to me
I don't think it is a tree.
Looks like a carrot
That belongs to a parrot.
But Frank wants to steal it.
Frank likes carrots
Why not the chocolate type
Chocolate stole the form of that carrot.
Just spare it.
Tasty and good, good and tasty.
Don't be to hasty.
It's that chocolate carrot.
GIVE IT TO ME!
