the Warmth of Peace

An acoustic guitar plays as the melody makes its way from its depths, spreading warmth like a fire on a cold night. The pitter, patter sounds of rain fill in the gaps between each strum. Steam rises from a newly brewed cup of coffee, as sweet warmth pushes out the bitterness of the cold. Under a soft blanket a book opens, its pages yellowed from years and years of reading. But once again it is opened for its reader who has loved it all these years and once again it brings warmth and a sense of peace as I read.
