a tap on the shoulder
i turn to meet your gaze
a smile
a gasp for air
a breath taken away
if i could live in this moment forever...
what's a lifetime?
a sum of years
a number of months
a total of days
a count of hours
a careless minute hand
and a rhythm of seconds
tick-tock
always moving forward
never looking back
a light pitter patter on the thatched roof of our pergola
warm cups of green matcha tea
a constant breeze carrying the autumn cool
friends exchanging stories
warmth in our hearts
The sky dressed up
With golden finery
And purple, red, pink hues
To attend nature's banquet
A path
Covered with gold, orange, red, brown
And an arch made of trees
Glowing with yellow leaves like a midsummer's sun
Beyond which my soul reflects
On the mirror surface
Of a tranquil lake
In late autum
Storm clouds gather beyond the ridge
Creeping slowly on the lowlands below
Blanketing the blue sky
Until a single ray of sunshine breathed its last breath
Bring on the downpour
With each step toward the receding sun
My mind becomes a blank canvas
As fiery hues splash across the sky
And unto my mind
Filled
the soft rain pitter-pattered
on my outstretched hands
reminding me of summer rays
dancing with the waves' peaks and valleys
now long gone
reserved to hide behind clouds
only to peek through the veil
once upon a time
yellow, orange, reddish hues
rustling with the wind
now and then a gust comes by
and autumn colors drift slowly
down to earth
somewhere beyond the clouds
an old moon beckons the day
"come, my son, let us go together
in search of sunrise"
