The Light
No one knows,
No one sees.
They all just pose,
While you’re still at unease.
You want to let it all out,
But no one will listen.
You just want to check out,
You put yourself at a distance.
If only they knew,
If only they saw.
Maybe they’d get through,
But they treat you like an outlaw.
Suddenly a light shines through it all
You look up and see him.
That’s when you recall;
Everything seems less grim.
He makes his way over,
He’s your sunshine.
You give him a once-over.
He’s the sign everything will be fine.
Weight
You know it’s not healthy,
You tell yourself to stop.
You just need to eat,
You need to take care of yourself.
No matter how much you say it,
You just can’t do it.
You say you want to lose the weight,
You say it’ll be fine once you’re ‘skinny’.
You tell yourself you’re fine,
Just because no one else notices.
You don’t lose the weight fast enough,
You start to work out.
Nothing seems to be helping,
You try to just talk about it.
You try to get help,
But no one seems to notice.
You just need more time,
The weight on the scale will go down.
You just want to feel pretty again,
You just want to loose the weight.
That’s what you tell yourself daily,
When your stomach growls.
You ignore it,
You think it’s healthy.
You’re losing weight,
You’re getting tired.
You’re losing energy,
You’ve lost the weight.
2nd Choice
You’re the only one my mind is on,
But to you this is just some fun.
You say you can’t decide on who,
All you need to do is choose.
You talk to me about her,
Unknowingly making everything a blur.
You rant and vent about her, your love,
I listen, but now I’m sick of it.
I’m giving you time,
As I’m slowly breaking inside.
I talk to you everyday wondering,
As my thoughts are slowly plundering.
You say you like us two,
But for me it’s only you.
I’m giving you the time to choose,
Just please don’t leave me more bruised.
