PERFECTION
I have perfected the craft
Of painting my skin to become
The flawless mask that people see
And hide what’s truly within
I have perfected the skill
Of become a chameleon
And change my skin to match
The problematic environment that I live in
Master of disguise
I start to loose who I truly am on the inside
Since I twisted and shift who I am so many time
Taught as a child not to draw attention to one self
Fading into the background became second nature
Automatically done without a single word
I faded so well that the disguise became my true nature
My mask is my face
My face is my mask
My mask is my face
My prison is my mask that is permanently etched to my face
Manicured words are the jailers that hold the key to unlock my prison
But my lips, the wardens, are not financed by my tongue or my brain
Who is in cahoots with my inner-self
They are in contract with puppet master who pull my strings
It is they who authorize the word that get to see the light beyond my prison mask
I was sentenced to a lifetime of perfection
To live eternity as a slaved puppet
In the life that someone else has written
Soon enough my limbs will be made to act without my consent
Happiness
What is happiness?
This thing that is so desired but fleeting.
I am in search of this mysterious thing that is called happines.
They say children can find it in the simplest things,
but past a certain age it seems to vanish.
Its shawdow created by money and fools the wealthy.
An elusive mistress it is. She is slippery, here one second and could be gone the next.
How does one catch and keep happienss?
Is it through success or love?
If you know can you tell me your secret.
The Night Wife
The night was young, and Carol patrolled the streets like the men in blue. The rings on her hand once a symbol of love and commitment now stood for imprisonment. Unable to break away due to the choking fear of not surviving on her own outside her prison. Her marriage was her cage and her husband, Sean was her warden. Her only sanctuary was the quiet moments she had to herself walking the neon-lit streets of New York City as she looked for her next job. In those time she’d pretend to be one of those twenty-something-year-old girls that had not a care in the world, someone who knew not the harsh reality of life. The night grew cold and the cropped fur coat that displayed her merchandise did not provide any warmth in the cool night. Carol’s thought of traveling abroad to the tropical islands she used to keep her warm was interrupted by the sound of a gruff voice. “How much for night babe?” Carol truly hated that she sold her body to filthy pigs like the man who hung out of his driver side window asking for her services. This is not what she envisioned her life to be after marrying the love of her life, Sean. Sighing she walked up to the man’s door and leaned over displaying her assets as he watches her every move just like a tiger watching its prey. “It’s three hundred to take me home with you and I’ll do anything your heart desire honey.” She smiled batting he lashes at him hoping he would go for the price. If she could get three hundred out of him she would make her goal, which would make her husband happy and not explode with rage for once. The man didn’t even blink before answering. “Let’s get out of here.” Walking around the car Caroled smiled a genuine smile for the first time in years. She knew that for once she would not wake up covered in black and blue.

Story chosen: Davy Jones and Calypso.
Core desire: To hurt the person that hurt them.
The story is about a sailor who fell in love with the sea goddess. Both loved each other but they ended up hurting each other cause both lovers to seek vengeance on one another. Davy Jones felt betrayed by Calypso because after pledging to sail the seas for eternity and only set foot on dry land once every ten years, she did not meet to be with him. As a result, he sought revenge and imprisoned calypso in her mortal body. Once freed a betrayed and hurt calypso caused a raging storm on the sea where Davy Jones lost his life, but even though hurt they still loved each other, as such he was welcomed back to the sea after death.
The story of the tragic love was told and listen not only across the sea but to a few land lovers.
“They say that their love ran as deep as the seven seas under the goddess’s domain.” An old sailor told the story to a group of sailors in a pub. Among them was a young red hair girl, Sarah Jones. The younger sister of Davy Jones. Like her older brother she too was a sea lover and she long to sail its waves just like her brother. Her green eyes sparkled when the old man recited the story. Listening she fantasized what it would be like to not only live her dream of being on the sea but to find a love as deep.
“Such a love could only lead to the lover’s demise. Because their love was so deep the betrayal of that love hurt just as deep. So much so the sailor cut out his own heart. The sailor became cold and ruthless. In the end Davy Jones lost his life to his love, Calypso.”
“What did you just say?” Sarah interrupted the man’s tale. She was shocked to hear the name of the sailor. “Did you say Davy Jones is dead?!”
“Yea, I sure did. The fool lost his soul to the sea.”
With that Sarah walk out of the pub. She made her way across town to the docks where the ships were located.
“Ai, lass. Where do you think you are going?” A white beard sailor sitting on a barrel ask Sarah as she stomp down the docks.
“To the heart of the ocean.” She said as she passing him without giving him a small glance.
“What for? To see your lover boy before he is cast off to sea.” White beard said hopping off his barrel and following her.
“No. I am going to set sail as a crew member.”
“Hahahahah. Oh that is hilarious. Now I can tell by your face that you are serious. Well lass I don’t know if you know, but there aren’t that many lasses on the sea and the heart of the ocean is strictly pen… you know what I mean.”
“Well, Mi brother is out at sea and I am going to find him no matter what.” Determination dripped from her tongue as she trudged right up to the ship, the Heart of the ocean.

Birth of me
My world starts to shakes as it begins to crumble away
Dying leaves fall off of my dying trees
This earthquake situation rips apart my standing foundation
My world is left crumpled and bleeding
Stabbed with the cold blade that reality has buried in its chest
Sole inhabitant of this world I look around this chaotic mess
Looking for chance to undo what has been done
Toxic words that have left their lips pollute my air
I’m struggle to breathe, I’m down on my knees
My vision blurs and my words start to slur
I have bruises on my back from the beatings of their world
I look up to the sky with my arms raised high
Waiting for an answer that my world could never supply
Why is this happening to me?
What have I done to receive such cruelty?
Made different that was my crime
So they decided it was my world’s end time
I try to be the same I try to conform
But doing that was slowly killing my soul
And I knew wearing a mask I could never be truly whole
So I let my uniqueness spill from my pores
And that uniqueness became the center of my world’s core
Different and rare I became a threat
Because they knew I was one of God’s gifts, heaven sent
Screamingly they plotted my downfall
Light surrounds my very being
Unbeknown to their seeing
So if my world had to end today
I can truly say
I died being unique and not one of the same
