recognition.
Recognising you.
I loved your eyes.
They shone like
moonbeams on an
empty clearing
during the nights.
during the day
they seemed to
blend in with
all the other lights.
Recognising you.
you had dark hair.
I walked in that day
and I saw the gun.
I saw the bullet.
I wish I had told you
how much I loved you.
Because now it's
too late.
I'm sorry, love.
Yawn Part 6
I turn
over
every stone
on my path
searching for
the last line.
I begin
to scour
memories
of old,
and feel
the waters

through
the muddied
soil
of my soul,
where the
torrent of
rushing
waters
has
gathered
sticks and debris;
forcing
them
to cling
to the
visible signs
of high waters
in the past —
tree trunks
strangled in
dead vines,
buried in
dry and
caked clay.

where
the fierce waters
have picked up
the earth
and turned it,
like a page
in a book.
I see
new treasures
that have been
unearthed
in the violence
and
tumult.
As I begin
to sift
through them,
the pen
finds her home
on the page
and I begin to....
write;
picking
piece by piece —
the twigs of beauty
and twines of pain
that have been
uncovered.
The page,
saturated with
words and tears,
begins to reflect
more light;
a prism
that
~
slowly trembles
upon
the waters of my
heart.
I look up
and away
from the page
to follow
the
light
with
my
eyes
and
there, atop
a * pile
of buried leaves
and branches
I find it....
the last
line
.
But it’s tangled

and
set it
free,
but need help
to
unravel it
from
myself .

once, I knew
I ONCE KNEW
a sun
a moon
that burned
that shone with stolen light
spreading flames
tracing hope
across the land
spreading a wash of moonlight
inciting dark passions like
cold flames (stolen light)
in the day.
in the dark.
I ONCE KNEW
a boy
a man
young
old
flying so high
falling so low

fingertips
reaching for the
sky, the sun
beyond
hands clenched
drowning in the waters
AND I ONCE KNEW
love
that burned
fire in my heart
blazing with passion
unlike anything I had
seen
a sun
a boy
kisses that melted me
AND ONCE I KNEW

cold flames in my heart
dark passions

kisses that drowned me
