The Hungry Man’s Psalm 23 on Thanksgiving
Food is my shepherd's pie; I shall not want.
It maketh me have picnics in green pastures.
It leadeth me beside warm gravy.
Food restoreth my soul.
It leadeth me away from paths of hangryness
for ain't nobody haveth time for that.
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of hunger,
I will fear no empty stomach,
for I smelleth cornbread;
thy beef and thy cheese,
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine cranky relatives;
you anoint my stuffing with cranberries;
my colon runneth over.
Surely food babies and turkey comas shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the crease of the couch
forever.
