Stone Love
One second I move, the next I freeze. All I want is someone to lean on. To understand me and my problems, but it won’t happen. I’m called a weeping angel for a reason. Earlier this evening, I found you, parchment, and I decided that it would be nice to do something at night. I need to let out my emotions. My father, Gelukkig, was crushed five years ago to make a bench. Now I have nobody. It’s just me. Sun’s starting to rise, so I’ll end here.

Today, parchment, I saw the most wonderful boy. He had eyes of the sky I stare at everyday, a delightful laugh, and corn yellow hair. I thought I saw him just wink. It seems impossible that I could change my stone, but I did it. Parchment, I think this is the start to something! I need to find where he lives so I can confess that I need him! Wish me luck!

Tonight, I find him! His name is Zeeman! I never thought beautiful words could describe him. I am nervous though since all I wear is rags. Will I be as beautiful as other maidens? I will find out soon. I will write when I return, which might be days hopefully!

Dear dear parchment, let me just explain my night.
I got to his apartments and knocked on his door. I waited for at least two minutes until he opened it.
“Excuse me, do you have the wrong door?”
“Zeeman? Who’s at the door? Get back in! Please.”
“Did I interrupt anything? Sorry. My name is Eenzaam. I love you. I winked at you a couple weeks ago.” My heart skipped a beat as a girl came to the door next to him.
“Are you lost? ’Cause this is my man. Betrothed and fell in love. Zee get this woman out now!” She looked so perfect with her own blonde hair, spectacles, and tallness. All I had was a little shawl and my rosiness. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. They kept arguing while I just shook and started to cry. I heard the door close, so I just closed my eyes and fell the the Earth. I wouldn’t move, not even if the sun came up. I thought it couldn’t get worse, but then it did, sort of.
“I’m very sorry for that disturbance. Now where were we, um you winked at me. The only person who has winked at me in the past couple months was Gabriella, but you don’t totally look like her. She kinda was, made of stone.”
I shook as I told him what I wasn’t supposed to say, “I am her. I am a weeping angel and I cannot move in light. My real name is Eenzaam by the way. I saw you one day, and I physically couldn’t keep my eyes off you! What gave you the inference that I was Gabriella?” I shouldn’t have said that. What if it’s someone special to him? Ugh, I messed that night up terribly.
“I thought for the longest time I would be married to a Gabriella, even though she didn’t exist. Once I looked upon you as a child, I fell in love with your statue and named you that. Now, I’m different as in married. I’m sorry Eenzaam, but I cannot love you anymore it is impossible. I have an idea though, I will give you true love’s kiss, so you will remember me.”
My heart then just stopped and I leaned in automatically. I thought this would be a best thing that would ever happen to me, but I was wrong.
I am almost out of parchment, so I will continue next time sadly.
I am back, and parchment, this is my last recording. After last Saturday, I cannot hold it in anymore. Now back to the story.
We were getting close to the kiss, but then, “ What are you doing?! We are through!” Her voice never felt so cold as she plucked the knife right into his wonderful heart. “Get out! Or else you too will have no heart!”
I ran off and went back to my post as fast as I could. Once the sun came up, it rained which made me feel like the whole Earth felt my pain.
Now we are here, it is currently just before sunset. Parchment I must tell you my plan for in case you are scared. I have found out that directly when the sun goes over the mountain, I can move but am just stone, so I will then drop off the famous Dom Tower and crash and die. I will finally be an angel, be with my father, and most importantly be with Zeeman.
Love,
The Weeping Angel
