Chapter 1
"Welcome to the USC0688. I'm commander Seari Willison and welcome to WWIII." I say that to myself over and over again. Trying the right way to say it.
" Welcome to year 2089 and we are smack dab in the middle of WWIII. You are our only hope to save the human race" ha, no I can't say that. This is the biggest mission of my life. I need to find away to say that to the younger version of...
The overhead speaker system. "Commander, mission control is calling in. Would you like me to transfer it to your screen. " said Annelise. She is what you could call my assistant or possibly my second in command. She always is keeping track of the calls coming from the upper command. Usually she deals with the calls so I don't have to but this time I knew what it was about.
" Please do, you know know during the time I'm 'gone' you're in command." I said. " and you know to keep an eye on you know who the whole time. "
" Yes, I know. Now I'm transferring. The call. Good luck" She said to me way to cheerfully. She probably happy, because she'll finally get to have control of the base.
I took a deep breath and turned around wait in position. For general Rogers face to pop on the screen.
" Good morning, sir" I said as I normally do.
" Today's a big day, Seari. The whole end of the war is based on your performance today. I briefed you on what to do yesterday and please give me a report as soon as you get back. Also is the goal under control" he said questionly.
" Yes, sir. He is being watched by a couple of my men. Without any idea of what's going on."
" Good and I expect a full report the minute you return."
" Yes, sir. Have a Good day"
The screen shut off. It's time and am I prepare. I'm sure I'm not ready for this. I mean who would be. It's going to be so weird but I must go. I'm the only one who can.
Before I go on any further with the story I should probably tell you who I am. Because if I don't this story might seem a little weird. So here we go.
My name is Seari Wilson, age 21, commander of the USS0688. I am one of the young commanders, well my whole base is pretty young. WWIII happen soon after my senior year of high school. So much for my dreams of going off to college and having a normal life. We were soon draft to the army. Well after Texas broke off to its own country. We need more people for our army. Long story short, Canada merged with the USA and now we are one giant country. Also major riots and poverty struck the U.S. So the best way to survive was to join the army. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention. I'm a time traveler, one of 16. We all work and live on different bases so there's no way they could kill all at once.
I'm currently located at USC0688, in the northwest. What was once known as the Portland, Oregon. I say once cause the minute WWIII broke out. All hell was let loose and it was burned to the ground. Once destroyed, the government decided to build a new base to watch over the people in the surrounding areas. Thus forming USC0688, youngest worked and commanded base ever.
So anyways back to the story. Off I go to the time room. Clever name I know but I'm under a lot of stress and well it was the first thing that came in mind. Going from my quarters to the time room seemed like forever. After going down four floors and a numerous amount of hallways. I was finally there. I put my hand up to the wall and scanned my eyeball. The wall opened up with the sound of air compressors.
" You ready! " Ed said.
" ready as I'll ever be" I said in a sarcastic tone.
Ed is a tall muscular man. His skin is a rich dark chocolate. He is also one of my best friends on the base. He has a twin brother named Ted. Which you'll meet later in the story.
" Your outfit is over there and plugged in the machine. Man I enjoyed find picture of you when you were younger. You were so cute"
" oh thanks. I know what has this war done to me" sarcasm was a thing between us and always kept our relationship in a good mood. " I can't believe I'm going back to my senior homecoming. This is going to be so exciting!" I walked through the machine and when I came out I was a pitch perfect image of what I looked like in Highschool. The dress was a purple halter top with an open back. Short flowing skirt with these adorable black heels. My hair was done in curls and my makeup was done to be "on fleek" as they use to say. I was ready to go back to my homecoming and blend in.
The mission was to bring back my friend Josh, to this time. Give him a mission, while also trying out this new device. Also while avoiding his future self and my past self. So this is going to be fun.
“ Ready, Seari” Ted said.
“Ya”
“Are sure”
“ yes I'm sure. Let's do it”
Deep breath in. And out. Lets do this thing.
