Loving me won’t save you from my shadows
If you cry, they’ll find you.
KEEP QUIET!
Don’t move my darling.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way...all that’s left is your survival.
I will go with them
Do not cry for me
I would have you gone, oceans to part us, walls to guard your heart.
You can’t stay and I won’t ask you to.
So run, far away from me, before the breaking takes us together
Now is not the time to prove your love
This is not your burden to bear
I will fight it, until scars are all that remain
Yet for now RUN
GET OUT
There is nothing for you here, but pain and disappointment
If you love me, you will run.
They will come for me in the night, sleepless unforgiving shadows
They will haunt me once more
Once more I go willing into their arms
-for my last surrender?-
I set you free from whatever threads we’ve woven into our live’s tapestry
Cords severed with my own two shaking hands
I will not look back
Forward is the only thing I know
Tomorrow dawns too soon,
too soon I am lost to myself
Go before the dawn
Go before even midnight strikes
Magic fading into fantasy
I cannot bear the weight of exopsure
Not even to you
Let us both keep what little remains of ourselves
Run away my darling.
KEEP QUIET!
If you cry, they’ll find you.
You will not recognize my remains.
Yet you are all that truly remains of me.
loving me won’t save you from my shadows
Whispers from Me
It isn’t everyday that the darkest part of the room looks the most inviting. The shadows that stretch across the floor whisper sanguine soliloquy’s about who they are, who they were, and will be. Or maybe it’s who they won’t be, were not, and are not.
It’s easy to surrender to the entrancing pattern of mandates that swirl sonorous from the melodies residing in the corners. It’s easy to wail back and get lost in the deafening noise of lament as the argument gets both more aggressive and less dissentient.
The scantiling perspective insists that it's still presence is the epitome of movement. Embrace the caress of fanatical device and raving obsession, it sings. This is how you find tranquility in yourself.
The darkest part of the room is where screams resonate, wails tumble out of tear choked mouths, and feet run to catch up with life before death can catch them. All the while dark holds firmly in its unyeailding comfort. The shadows are ties with soft murmurs and gentle kisses. It's warmer here, quieter here. Easier to talk here, and just be. The trap is in the reality.
So don't cry, keep quiet, and don't move. Serenity is in the stillness. Not the darkest part of the room.
Cry
“Don’t cry.” She willed herself. If she cried the dam would shatter. The bottles she had pushed up on shelves would topple over, all the sealed emotions would come crashing into her. Her demons would hear her crying and come racing to find her, to mark her with new scars and wonds. The darkness would clamp it’s jaws onto her skull and drag it’s teeth over her skin until she bleed rivers.
So she wouldn’t cry. She would seal her panic into a bottle and wait for another wave to crash into her once more.
Quiet Fear
"Tick tock goes the clock, its time for the mass of the dead." A menacingly jolly voice called down the street.
"Why so soon? The followers of Ifrit are growing bolder by the day." A worried voice replied through a whisper. "You must go and hide, wait for the mass to conclude."
"But I do not wish to leave you." A young voice replied through tears.
"You mustn't cry my dear for they will sense your sadness."
"Come now, come now, get out of bed and you just might keep your little head." The jolly voice called, growing closer.
"Hurry now! Go and get in your secret room." The worried voice said ever softer.
The sound of broken doors and muffled screams provided the unholy chorus of this wicked mass. Light steps scurried across the wood as the terror grew heavy in the air.
"What's this? What's this? A little one, hidden from our cleansing sun?"
"I assure you, there is no one else here." The worried voice answered through the window.
"Oh my, oh my, a lie you've told. Why must you think to be bold?"
Broken glass and muffled scream started the next verse.
"No, no, where have you gone? There's no need to fear new dawn."
Stifled sadness and fear rang loud in the midnight air.
"There you are, oh there you are. I knew you couldn't go far." The jolly voice sang, growing closer and closer.
A broken latch opened the door, fear overwhelming young voice they cried, "No!"
"Oh my dear what have they done to you, there is no need to be quiet and scared any longer." A kind voice and beaming smile said from the doorway.
