Judge me by my looks alone
And curse me to my very bones
For deep within you'll see a child
Committed young and running wild
You think I speak poetic tongue
You fool you cannot be more wrong
The childish shell is wrinkled sure
Your fleeting glance sees nothing more
And therein lies my best defence
To look the same as everyone else
My closest allies know me true
A closet child with eyes of blue
Who sees the world in such a mess
I daren't show joy I must confess
So take your selfies, drink your beer
And laugh behind my back I fear
The child within laughs louder yet
At you you fools I'll make a bet
This world is but an Eton Mess
And really I could care no less
For deep within this crumpled man
I hide away as best I can.
