wondering why we wander
never knowing never knew
but as butterflies flutter by
black against the blue
we begin to forget the now
as we wander though the new
knowing there is nothing
nothing but bright blue
Placid peach sunsets by Lake Erie.
Deep purple petunias.
Drops of sweat slipping down my spine.
The slapping sound of flipflops on my feet.
The way my mind goes mid-winter.
Finally. Fuzzy feet, fluffy face...
I wiggle my whiskers and tap at my tiger teeth with a curved claw.
Padding down the pavement, it's a short walk to school.
Those big bullies thought they were so tough.
Nah. Just chewy.
