American Sniper
He left his shack on Mango Street
Staying strong through the years
He left his home, his wife and kids
For mud, sweat, and tears
He loves beyond belief
His children and his wife
And believes the Holy Bible
Is a survival guide for life
As bullets fly and people die
He maintains that God's not dead
He jots down verses in his notebook
Recites them in his head
His final walk with his family
Was quite a walk to remember
They carried him to his final resting place
In November
Cookbooks through the shelves. My Bible in which I sometimes delve.
Books for pleasure, books for gain.
Art books I read on those thundering days of rain.
Books of poetry I read amongst the bubbles and the soap.
Books that bring me joy and hope.
Ever buying ever reading. The shelves of a writer are always living; never dying.
