Interaction
Showing up at your friends door unannounced
Without a raised eyebrow in return
'Cause these days, human interaction is always scheduled
Robotic, unnatural.
When texting was prepubescent
..Not used as a buffer between word and
Emotion
Technology is inevitably aging our history exponentially. As much as I appreciate it, it is boxing, blurring our natural expressions into little screens, predetermined "options", etc.
Making a Young guy like me seem super old ...outdated...daydreaming about normal simple plain human things.
Like showing up at my friends front door
Saying "hey" and actually smiling.
Nothing else needed.
Literary Rise from the Ashes
...literature, of all kinds, being as culturally popular as professional sports and prime-time TV are today? Whatever happened to literature, it's definitely not as popular as it once was. Maybe it's a combination of the World Wars, television, the Cold and Vietnam Wars, and the PC/WWW revolution. Whatever the cause, I want to fix this problem. Somehow.
2nd chances
Do they even exist? One little mistake and your done, out the door. Shut out by friends..or people who were something more. It's so hard to think time goes by so fast, and nobody takes time to give anyone a second chance.. Could we just slow down and take some time to give those friends one more try? To let that one person love you again? And most of all forgive and forget and start over, giving some one a second chance.
