Reality’s Wet Dream
Reality got bored of being the only one in existence so split in two, resulting in Thought and Language, who decided to fuck. Of course, when it comes to coming, it isn't any absolutistic, black-and-white matter, but a spectrum, and, leading to its electrifying climax, both Thought and Language contributed fairly and complementarily to each other's climbing up this orgasmic interstellar spectrum until finally the Omega Point had been reached and both Thought and Language felt so fucking good from fucking so fucking good that they both came at the absolute exact same event-location in spacetime and therefore both and neither came first.
Thought...?
You hypothetically would have to think in order to come up with a language, right?
The idea of speaking must have been in existence before actual words; thought up by early people who needed something to express themselves and their instincts. The invention of language had to have come from somewhere....
Thought Came First
Thought came first.
Without thinking, we cannot do anything.
We cannot sit, speak, type, solve problems, or invent anything.
We have to consciously or subconsciously think in order to do most things necessary for daily life.
Language is "the ability to acquire and utilize complex systems of communication". When we think, it's different from person to person. Some people think in words, some in pictures, and some in abstract little thingies that they can't describe.
People of ancient days couldn't think in words, so they thought in pictures, in emotions, in existing things.
I believe thought came first.
Thought is language.
Thought and language go hand in hand.
The minute either is created the other is always present. Understanding is the only thing left to be discovered. We can think and speak in abstract ways. There will always be a need for understanding. Without understanding language will remain a thought and that thought will remain unheard.
Thinking before you Speak
Simply put, thought came first. But how do we know this? Simply by testing it. Though difficult, it is very possible to think without words, once the mind has been trained. It is a difficult skill, however, because we are taught from birth our language and words are so critical. Once you begin to try to think without words, your mind becomes more open and it begins to process things much faster. Words tend to clutter our thought process, and once we take away that element it becomes easier to think quicker.
