Short. Sweet. Love.
I hope that coming out is no longer a thing to be done.
That we can just simply BE without having to run
Or hide or cower or let go of the hands
That hold us up in private, but in public, can be seen as a sin.
I hope that the world realizes that human rights are for all of us and not just the ones they "like" more than the rest.
But most of all, I hope that we can love freely, without worry or consequence.
A scope of my hopes for our future.
For violence to be a thing of the past,
That the hate won't last.
Where there's respect,
And comprehension is a resounding aspect.
There's no more hunger,
No more greed.
Where the oppressed are freed,
And the starved can feed.
A place where cooperation isn't just in the imagination.
A world where dreams become reality,
There's low chance of fatality,
And it's easier to get a degree.
Equality is the way of humanity,
There's more sanity,
Less profanity and vanity.
Those are some hopes,
There's more,
But here's this brief scope.
It may be wishful thinking,
But it's not unreasoning.
