Hope
Hope within my heart
In something yet unseen
If hope is finally realized
It’s hope that I don’t need
Is it gone forever
If one day hope is lost ?
Can it be grasped again
Or purchased, what’s the cost?
Like love or acts of kindness
Can you give it or receive?
Hope transferred by some means
To bring someone relief
If I could harness hope
I’d ride on angel's wings
And breathe it in each heart
A song of hope they’d sing
But hope, like what is hoped for is
Intangible, unseen
Can I hope for hope?
I hope for hope’s small seed
With my seed I’d start to sow
Planting fields of hope
Watering and caring as
I watched hope’s garden grow
I’d hope for sick and dying
That they would be made well
I’d hope for all the hungry
Satisfying meals
I’d hope for peace on earth
I’d hope for joyous hearts
I’d hope for no divorce
And families torn apart
I’d hope for grief to lift
From those in pain who suffer
I’d hope for two pink lines
All those longing to be mothers
I’d hope for safety, too
In work that’s dangerous
I’d hope for all the lonely
To find a love that lasts
I’d hope for restoration
For those who’ve been estranged
I’d hope for laughter too
In hearts so heavy weighed
I’d hope for better days
To lie ahead for all
I’d hope for all to know
That they’re loved, most of all
