Specter of Summer
Summer’s tears drip golden leaves
As bronze tints blush on Nature’s face
Weeping rustles ash-hued trees
While Sun reaches towards Fall’s embrace
Morning bites; the apples, crisp
Harvest moon, tall corn fields splay
Winds bend branches; cloud skies wisp
As sunlight wanes to shortened days
Between her life and dust, the grave
Blaze of brilliance; torching flames
Beauty bleeds; cicadas fade
Crushed beneath each barren frame
Kiss the dusky sunset skies
August, swallowed by September
Gone, before you realize;
Green leaves ghosts in Autumn’s embers
A BEAUTIFUL DAY
The brilliant sun shines down upon me, not too hot, but just right for this time of year as Autumn slowly approaches us. A slight breeze ruffles through my hair and it feels refreshing. Today is the perfect day to relish the great outdoors, only because they will soon come to an end, only to be replaced with bitter cold and falling snow.
