CAROLYN & BRENT
Chilling, at least that’s my goal. I write about everyday situations and add an unexpected ending. All my stories are compact. The Twilight Zone always intrigued me. I have nothing against long drawn-out stories, in fact, two of my favorite authors are Steven King and Dean Koontz. I just love sitting down to a story and finishing it before I fall asleep. I'm a fan of horror and dark fiction podcasts. It's a thrilling feeling to hear my story narrated for thousands of people to hear.
Fiction? Yes, the podcasts I write for are fiction podcasts.
True crime? Yes, there is definitely a connection between dark fiction and true crime.
You look tense, I hope I didn't say something to make you nervous about being here. So many people seem to stereotype horror writers. Take this origami flower I made from my napkin.
I want to lighten the mood and show you how I can make a knot out of this cherry stem with my tongue.
You're shivering, are you cold? Here, put my scarf across your shoulders.
Already? Can I see you again? Great.

When Brent got home, he laid the unfinished voodoo doll he fashioned from Carolyn’s scarf next to the threaded needle, the knotted cherry stem and a small heap of shredded paper. He stuffed the effigy with the shredded origami flower, inserted the cherry stem, and closed the opening.
