This is the most important thing you can do to improve your Fortnite skills, and it's also the thing most beginners avoid. Being aggressive may seem counterintuitive in a game where the goal is to survive. The key to survival, however, is knowing how to outwit your opponents in a fight. The more fights you have, the more practice you will get. The more you practice, the more lethal you become. When you hear gunshots, run towards them. When you see an enemy approaching, engage them. Don't hide in a bush if you see one! Be aggressive, seek out fights, and improve your combat efficiency.

#1 Understand the Healing System
The green bar at the very bottom middle of the screen represents health. Players begin the match with a maximum health of 100. Your shield is the blue bar directly above your health bar, and you begin at zero. The only way to obtain a shield is to loot shield potions or slurp juices scattered throughout the map. When you take damage from an enemy, your shields are depleted before your health is depleted. Shields, however, do not protect against fall or storm damage, so keep an eye on your health bar.
It's critical to remember that players do not regain health over time. Instead, you must locate one of four items that can help you regain your health or obtain a shield, and understanding how they all work is extremely beneficial. First and foremost, there are bandages. Each bandage restores 15 health but heals you to a maximum of 75 health. You'll need a medkit or a slurp juice to get over 75. A medkit will always restore you to 100 HP, no matter how low your health is, and a slurp juice is unusual in that it provides both shields and health. Players will gain one health and one shield point per second for 25 seconds when they use a Slurp Juice. Finally, there are shield potions, which grant 50 shields instantly but have no effect on your health. Take the time to learn and master this system so that you can heal effectively and efficiently.
#2 Know Your Arsenal and Be Prepared For Any Situation
Weapon tiers in Fortnite's Battle Royale mode are distinguished by five distinct colors. Gray, green, blue, purple, and orange/gold are the weakest to strongest colors. That's something you should tell yourself. It's critical that you remember this. Throughout each match, keep an eye out for higher-tiered weapons. Each enemy you kill and chest you loot will give you the chance to swap a weaker gun for a stronger one. Use the color coding to determine which is stronger and which is weaker. Once you've figured that out, concentrate on keeping a variety of weapons on hand. In other words, you should always have short and long range weapons, as well as some explosives, on hand so that you are prepared for any type of fight that may arise.
#3 Weapon Slotting That Is Consistent
This tip can be extremely useful, especially if a fight breaks out and you are not prepared. You want to keep your inventory in a consistent order so you can pull out the item you want without hesitation. For example, I organize my inventory from left to right, with close-range weapons on the left, longer-range weapons on the right, and healing items last. This way, I can get whatever I need in a fight without having to look down to find it in my inventory.
#4 Set your Sights Low
Your glider will deploy based on your distance from the ground after you jump from the battle bus. To put it another way, aim your player over rivers, paths, or flat areas of the map rather than above mountains, trees, or buildings. If you aim for low points, your glider will open later and you will be able to land sooner. Landing earlier means you can find loot before your opponents, and loot is often the difference between life and death.
