The rain of anxiety
It starts softly with a pitter-patter of raindrops dancing across the windows. I hold my breath, listening as the skies let loose.
Most people find the sound of a watery onslaught to be soothing, something to help lull them into a peaceful dream state.
I am not most people.
The rain, the sound of harsh pounding against the glass, it covers my heart in a blanket of anxiety.
It's silly, I know, to be terrified of a sound.
So what's a girl to do when she's drowning in her own fear?
