Embrace your neighbours who are weak and/or idle.
God taught us to be patient with those who are weak. Hmm, what if they are really idle though weak? What if they have attitude problems? Of course, they never change like a spot of the leopard!
Truly, they annoy us. They drive us mad. They keep our blood pressures boiling up. We wish to shake them up till they wake up! We wish to punch them. Or we have to shout and scold them off...But it is not a wise solution, we know!
But how could we stop this kind of situations?
The bible teaches us to speak the truth in love. Firstly, it is all right for us to be angry with our idle, weak neighbours. But do not sin. Sound familiar?
Speaking the truth in love - what is it like?
Importantly, you need to study people-personalities before you meet with your neighbour in a gentle confrontation and sensitive observation.
1) Pray to God for forgiveness and wisdom before you start to invite your neighbour to a private place for a good talk. It could be a restaurant, cafe, park or beach.
2) Find out why your neighbour is like this. Be a good listener.
3) Help squaring the problems so that your neighbour could see why you are annoyed and angered.
3) Offer advices rather than your solutions. Let the neighbour decide and work on it.
4) Support your neighbour who is working on it. Remember it is not you who can change him / her. It is God who changes.
6) Pray with your neighbour along. Trust God stronger through your cultivation of relationship with him / her.
7) At home, you need to pray for your neighbour regularly. God will change him / her. Give him / her a time. Bring him / her along for fellowships so that he / she will learn more from them, not just you only.
