Challenge
Have you noticed how everyone writes about death? If you have why did you write it?
Dull
May be a bit dark, may be a bit sad,
And believe me, it makes me feel quite a bit bad,
But when the officer told me the crash killed my dad,
My heart didn't register what my brain had.
I never did cry and I never felt down,
As the coffin was buried, I uttered no sound,
As the others all struggled in tears, as they drowned,
I was happy, at peace with his split-open crown.
I never quite got my emotions in full--
I've always been monotone, always a bit dull--
But I'm gaining it back now, and happy am I,
But now I have to dry these tears I didn't cry.
