A Glorious Shower
The sky becomes gray,
Clouds rolling in.
Golden rays fading,
Sunlight shining thin.
Suddenly, a flash through the night,
Lightning seen from down under.
Followed by an earth shaking sound,
The mighty crack of thunder.
Water promptly descends from the sky.
Drip drop, pitter patter.
Slowly at first, until quicker than ever.
Every single one begins to splatter.
Surrounded in all four directions,
Every outside occurrence seems to cease.
A damp, brisk blanket of safety.
A temporary stasis of peace.
