Out of the Mouth of a Villain(I did you a favor)

I pen this letter with tumultuous heart,

I must go on without you as we grow apart,

impaled by your soul covering your weakness,

entirely your fault because you refused to swallow

my wishes in big gulps of submission as you tried

to dam my words in gushing floods of confusion.

You kept me from repairing my gloss and worth

as I peeled your scalp and found nothing therein.

Your talons picked me up and flew off with me,

intruding into my soaring mind and thoughts.

I have evolved and don’t want to eat cake,

sadly, I prefer a different taste in my mouth.

I can’t endure seeing the pain I glimpse in your eyes

as I scorn your shores and find new passages.

I’m an immature person full of insecurities –

a wild tangled villain when you’re a sweet rose.

I came to save you from life’s travails but

I couldn’t handle them in bright daylight.

I loved you intensely but couldn’t let

this get in the way of your life journey.

You may think I’m a scoundrel and coward

for not talking to you face to face

But please understand I am saving you

from me in my benevolent ways.

You’ll have to agree, you’ll thank me

              SOMEDAY!
